Expungement

Step 1:

Open the Expungement Form ("Expungement Order") by clicking on the provided link.  Fill the form out completely.  If you are not sure what to enter in a particular field, please leave it blank and the Solicitor's Office representative will assist you with the information.

Step 2:

Obtain (3) three separate money orders.

1. Payable to the Solicitor's Office for $ 150.00, non-refundable

2. Payable to SLED for $25.00, non-refundable

3. Payable to Clerk of Court for $35.00, filing fee, when applicable

Notification:

The process of getting the records expunged can take between 8-10 weeks.  Please note that there is no way for the Solicitor's Office to track the progress of the expungement.  You will be notified by mail when the expungement has been accepted.  Once notified, SLED will process the expungement within 5-7 days.

 

Step 3:

Bring your completed Expungement Form, along with the (3) three separate money orders to the Eighth Circuit Solicitor's Office.  The Solicitor's Office is located at Suite 203, Park Plaza, 600 Monument Street, Greenwood, SC.  Be prepared to also provide an accurate mailing address.

Park Plaza is the two story building located directly adjacent to the Greenwood County Courthouse.  If you have trouble locating the office call (864) 942-8800.
